• Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump have announced a joint statement to build INDUS Innovation, an “innovation bridge” for space, energy, and other new technologies.
• The India-U.S. Defence Acceleration Ecosystem (INDUS-X) will serve as a model for INDUS Innovation, encouraging cooperation between the two countries’ defense businesses.
• The Air Force Research Laboratory will collaborate with Indian startups on technologies for space domain awareness and Earth observation.
• The Defence Innovation Unit has called for technologies to find and track satellites in low Earth orbit in dangerous areas.
• The U.S.-India TRUST project aims to encourage collaboration on critical and emerging technologies, like space, while ensuring sensitive technologies are protected.
• This two countries connected to continue working on civil and commercial space issues with the Ax-4 private astronaut journey to the International Space Station & the “early” launch of the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) Earth science project.
• The joint statement also emphasizes cooperation on long-duration human spaceflight missions, spaceflight safety, and sharing of expertise in new areas like planetary protection.
