Firefly Aerospace gets a $21.8 million deal for a tactically responsive space program.
The U.S. Space Force has given Firefly Aerospace a $21.8 million deal for a mission called Victus Sol. As part of the Tactically Responsive Space (TacRS) program, the mission’s goal is to show that the Space Force can set up satellites when national security is at risk.
The trip will use Firefly’s Alpha rocket and will be able to be used, showing that the program has moved from test flights to real-world missions. Firefly has already sent out Victus Nox and Victus Haze, which were both TacRS tasks.
